Good Measure is excited to announce an open Request for Proposals (RFP) for 
the 2019 Special Projects Fund. 

Thorough this RFP, Good Measure is inviting proposals from networks, collaboratives, or groups who are focused on strengthening the Central Texas Data Ecosystem.


FAQs

Is my group eligible to apply?

Prospective projects should meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Projects should benefit multiple organizations and/or the broader community and are not designed to solely benefit a single group
  • We welcome groups that offer diverse viewpoints and voices. 
  • Work should be focused in the Austin MSA (Travis, Williamson, Hays, Caldwell, and/or Bastrop counties) 
  • The lead applicant applying for funds should be based in the Austin MSA, including an address in the Austin MSA. 
  • The lead applicant applying for funding should be operating as a recognized 501c3 nonprofit and have an official letter of determination from the Internal Revenue Service. 
  • The lead applicant and any partner organizations should share Good Measure’s view of collaborative and inclusive service to the community. 
  • The lead applicant must be in good standing with all appropriate local, state or federal governmental bodies or regulatory agencies with jurisdiction over the applicant’s organization and activities.

How much funding is available?

Up to $70,000 is available for 2019. Good Measure plans to offer 1-3 grants, with the average grant size from $20,000 to $70,000.

What is the timeline?

The deadline for submission of proposals is May 30, 2019. Applicants will be notified by July regarding the status of their proposal. 

Funding disbursement schedule will be negotiated with Good Measure based on project scope and needs. 

A summary of your work to date, including how Good Measure funds have been utilized, and any project outcomes, must be submitted to Good Measure by December 1, 2019.  A final report of the summary of your work, including project outcomes, must be submitted by August 2020.

Good Measure is an association of philanthropic organizations who work together with their grant partners and the broader community to creatively and strategically use data to make a bigger difference in the lives of more people.

To support this work, Good Measure desires to fund projects designed to address one or more of the following dimensions:

  • Data & evaluation capacity: Strengthening the ability of the community to use evidence and data for strategic guidance, learning and improvement.
  • Data availability & accessibility: Increasing community access and use of high-quality data to make strategic decisions.
  • Culture of learning: Strengthening awareness and support within the community around the need to build organizational cultures focused on inquiry and continuous improvement.

The special projects fund will allow Good Measure to support innovative opportunities in the community to strengthen data and evaluation efforts.
