Which GM Program is the Right One for Me?

In our January blog, we highlighted the changes coming to programming in 2021. With these changes in full swing, applications are now open for two of our offerings this year – Data Leaders Academy and two Coaching Circles, for Nonprofits and Funders. We recommend that you read about these programs on the website, however, each program is also briefly outlined below for a side-by-side comparison.

What does Data Leaders Academy look like this year?

Data Leaders Academy is a program designed for nonprofit professionals who want to deepen their understanding of data and evaluation and embed equity throughout the process. This year’s cohort will take place across seven months, with two live sessions per month including guest speakers, group discussions, affinity group debriefs, and opportunities to workshop your own tools and content in a peer setting. Though the format of Data Leaders Academy has changed to adapt to a virtual setting and the feedback of the previous participants, we expect the same number of contact hours (4 hours per month of live sessions + 2-6 hours of individual work).

Data Leaders Academy is a time commitment, but it is also a commitment to deep learning and community building. Topics will be chosen by selected applicants; you will have a chance to rank your interests on the application form and suggest your own ideas as well. Our online training platform will provide resources for each topic for pre-learning; if it is a topic you know well, you won’t need to invest as much time upfront. However, if it is a topic you want to build knowledge and expertise in, the resources are available for you to do just that. When we come together for the first monthly sessions, we will discuss equity implications of data & evaluation and hear from guest speakers about real world examples and case studies. In our second monthly session, we will break into small groups to workshop a tool or evaluation component that you bring with you – and if you don’t have something, it’s your chance to develop a process, tool, or idea and get feedback from your cohort.

If this program sounds like a good fit for you, we encourage you to read the full description here and apply when you are ready – applications are being accepted now through March 29, 2021.

What do Coaching Circles look like this year?

The Coaching Circles follow the Action Learning model. This six-session program offers the opportunity to further develop leadership skills, and to identify creative solutions to complex challenges with the guidance and support of an understanding network of peers in a similar role. Participants will come together each month to workshop a problem or challenge that they are having by asking questions and focusing on individual leadership skill building. Participants build a strong community as they work through issues and connect around data & evaluation goals. This year, Good Measure is offering two unique Coaching Circle opportunities; one for nonprofit professionals, and one for funders, to bring their questions and challenges around data & evaluation to workshop with their peers.

Are you intrigued by the Action Learning process but want to know more? Check out this short video that describes the process from the participant perspective.

If one of these programs sound like a good fit for you, we encourage you to read the full descriptions and apply when you are ready – applications are being accepted now through March 29, 2021.
