Data collection is a part of every successful program, but how do you turn numbers into actionable insights? With Data You Can Use (DYCU), you’ll explore the tools, strategies, and frameworks to evaluate programs effectively and collaboratively with your organization and those you serve.  

By the end of this hands-on session, you’ll confidently bring evaluation strategies, data collection practices and storytelling approaches, customized for your programming, back to your organization.  

Topics Covered Include:

  • The full research and evaluation lifecycle and where your program is situated 

  • How to utilize logic models in your data collection planning process  

  • Inclusive outreach methods and strategies like data disaggregation and community-led interpretation  

  • Tools to define outcomes that evaluate program success  

  • Storytelling best practices to communicate effectively with community members, funders, and program staff 

  • Overcoming challenges in fostering a data-driven culture within your organization

Format: Two virtual sessions with breakouts for group discussions, and team planning time.

Duration: 3-hour sessions each day over a 2-day period.
